After a few minutes, I realized that this debate is way to rushed and seems too crowded. I personally like the stand up podium style (which is how debates are supposed to be). This format resembles a bunch of people sitting at the kitchen table arguing.
Also, only 45 seconds to respond to a question is ridiculous, I'm in the debate club and we have 5 minutes to respond to a question! (They should at least have a minute and a half- but that's impossible with 5 leaders). I like the head-to-head format that the Americans get to enjoy, but its Canada, what can I say?

I agree - 45 seconds to answer the allegations of 4 attackers is ridiculous!
I also agree....the format is not like a debate...not enough time to answer 4 attacks from the opposition for PMSH in 40 seconds. This was such a joke. Harper is very intelligent and this should be one on one with Harper and a longer time limit on answers.
I think Dion had the questions too ,before the debate.....???
The format was definitely skewed to the advantage of the opposition parties. It's unfortunate that they are maintaining the same format tonight.
Since responses were limited to 45 seconds, that was simply a quest for sound bites. It was not a debate. Oddly enough, the english media are not reporting many.
Hi Michael, I commend you 17 and you are so strong in your beliefs and so articulate.
I became interested in politics around 15.
I am dating myself. I didnt like Pierre Trudeau and Liberals in the late 70's and became a progressive conservative supporter.
I am disappointed in the way Harper ran this election.
The team running the Quebec campaign did a terrible job.
Duceppe could spout nonsense and apparently there was no one on the ground who immediately could respond to him.
I thought Bernard Lord was running the campaign in Quebec.
If true that disappoints me because I liked Lord and thought of him as a future leader.
To change the subject I hope the Liberals dont lose too badly on Tuesday because I do think there is an outside chance they could actually come in third behind the Bloc in terms of seats.
If that happens Dion is gone.
It looks like no majority so I would like to see Harper with at least 140 plus seats and the liberals around 90 because with that result Dion would probably stay on. He could argue he kept the cons. from getting a majority (although it was themselves that did that) and he could say the result wasnt the catastrophe predicted weeks ago.
If he stays on that party will implode. Rae and Ignatieff will work behind the scenes and it will cause them a lot of trouble.
Dion like John Turner might get a second chance and that is to the cons. advantage although honestly Harper might need to consider whether he will hang around to the next election considering he ran against probably the worst liberal leader ever and the worst platform ever and couldnt win a majority.

This is such poppycock. Harper is the best this country has seen since the LIBERANO$ stole our taxpayers dollars in Quebec in brown envelopes. If Quebec wants to support separtists who want to destroy the country or liberals who stole from them....what can Conservatives do to convince them them? They need to rally the forces to support Harper for their welfare in this economic turmoil.
